God is love. Everything about the Gospel originates from this one truth...
For God so loved that he gave his one and only Son. (John 3:16)
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ... (Ephesians 2:4-5)
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1)
But the odd thing about this truth is that it’s one many people have the hardest time believing.
Sin, fear, guilt, and the lies of this world paint a completely different picture of God. These dark, sinister forces portray him as a mean, judgmental, and vengeful being who is out to get us at every turn.
That’s how I thought about God for many years. I lived in fear of his punishment.
The day I fully believed that all my sins were forgiven was the day the love of God broke through to my heart. On that day, I knew God truly and genuinely loved me.
And literally thousands of people are coming to that same assurance as they learn to rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. They no longer see God through the eyes of their sin. They see him through the eyes of grace.
Your support of our Basic Gospel program is helping change the way people see and relate to God one person at a time.
And once a person comes to the firm belief that God is love, they see his love everywhere. Like Ron, who recently sent this encouraging note...
Please keep on doing what God has blessed you in doing. I was listening to your program today as I try to do every weekday. You were telling what happened in the Garden of Eden and how God had placed Adam and Eve out of the garden after they had sinned. Genesis 3:22 is a great example of God's love for us in that he would not let Adam and Eve eat of the Tree of Life and live forever in their sin. Thanks again!
There are so many problems in the world today, and they all stem from the same cause—people are missing God’s love.
The Apostle John put it this way...
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7, 8)
With your help, we’re bringing that one truth into clear focus and connecting as many people as possible to the love of Jesus Christ.
Let’s not let sin, fear, and guilt have the final word about God. Let’s keep delivering the Good News—the one message that has the power to break through the lies of the world and open people’s hearts to the truth!
So I ask you to give your most generous gift today to help reach more people through Basic Gospel. And as my way of saying thanks, I want to send you a copy of my teaching series on the definition of love from 1 Corinthians 13 called Love Is. This series will help you take a deeper dive into the love God has for you.
So be sure to request your copy when you send your gift today!
I’m so grateful for your partnership in helping people hear, believe, and live the good news that God is love!
In his matchless love,
