Welcome to the Basic Gospel family!
What is God’s will for your life?
It is one of our deepest desires, yet it can be one of our most frustrating quests.
I could hear this frustration in Steve’s voice the day he called into the radio broadcast. He had two job opportunities and he didn’t know which one to take. He explained the situation, and then asked, “What is God’s will for me?”
Steve did not want to make the wrong decision. He was stuck in the mud. He was so afraid he might miss God’s perfect will. And if he missed it, he was afraid of the future consequences.
I can tell you, being stuck in the mud is not God’s will. But that is where so many Christians find themselves, and they don’t know why.
For Steve, he thought he had to choose God’s perfect plan to reap all of God’s blessings. That is nothing more than Old Covenant thinking. Paul’s says that we already have every spiritual blessing in Christ.
So how can a person like Steve get out of the mud?
Well, it starts with the New Covenant. This is God’s will and he delivers us there the moment we believe.
Steve was trying to find God’s will instead of resting in the truth that he was already in the center of it through faith in Jesus—that he already had all the benefits of the New Covenant.
This is where your gifts to Basic Gospel are making the greatest impact. You are helping believers let go of the old and walk freely in this new and better covenant.
You are helping people truly live as new covenant believers—knowing and understanding that when Christ died, everything changed—that the old had gone and the new had come.
Thank you! Thank you for joining with us as ministers of this new covenant.
Not of the letter, as Paul wrote, but of the Spirit—“for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:6).
Let’s continue reaching out with this vital message—that Christ’s death ushered in this new covenant, a covenant in which God declares,
I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more" (Hebrews 8:10-12).
These promises contain everything a believer needs for life and godliness.
Today you are helping Basic Gospel deliver this good news through our radio broadcast, our new daily e-devotional, our bible reading plans featured on the YouVersion bible app, our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
With all of these different channels in place, God is connecting us to more and more people everyday, like this listener who wrote,
I love getting the daily devotions in my email along with the program. It is a great way to start my day with a reminder of my true position in Christ. My default position is to work harder and be better, so to be reminded of the truth is so helpful. Thank you Basic Gospel for the part you have played in my Christian walk.
What is God’s will? The New Covenant.
That’s where you and I live. Let’s continue to help others fully embrace God’s perfect plan and will for their lives and help them declare, “I am a New Covenant believer”.
