While those of you in the northeast are getting hammered by the biggest winter storm of the season, here we sit in sunny and relatively balmy north Texas, wondering if winter is ever going to arrive.
Meanwhile, inside the Basic Gospel studio, we’ve had some heart-wrenching calls. Now, it’s not my intent to put everyone into a depressed mood. The good part of it is that we have an answer, a solution … and are blessed and honored to share it … or HIM.
Sharon from McKinney, Texas, shares her heart and concerns. Listen now:
A question for the ages from James, who wrote his question to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
A call from Mary in Dallas brings another issue of family conflict and stress — this one over the death of a loved one.
A heart-wrenching question from Linda in Fort Worth concerning her daughter.
The bottom line for those who called is that our Lord may not take away our troubles, our hardships, but as Philippians 4:5b-6 says, The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Are you facing hardships and trouble? Difficult circumstances? Tell Him about it. He already knows — the “telling” is for you. Thank Him for walking through the valleys with you, trusting that He will never leave you nor forsake you. In so doing He has promised to guard your heart and your mind because you belong to Christ Jesus.
May His blessings of love, joy, peace, kindness, forbearance, and forgiveness — all encompassed in His grace — be upon you all.
