Bob Christopher, Richard Peifer, and I convene in the studio about 10 minutes before 3:00 P.M. Central Time and take our seats. On the other side of the widow Greg Parke is busy checking the connection between us and the satellite service and our internet streaming service, and preparing to get mic checks from the three of us.
Bob, Richard, and I put on our mic/earphone headsets and say silly things like, “Testing, 1, 2, 3.” I don’t know why. I guess those first three numbers are the easiest to get to. We could use, “Testing, 36, 85, 112.” If everyone can hear everyone else, we’re good to go.
The studio door is not yet closed and at about five minutes before the hour Producer Coleman Christopher comes in to turn on the cameras for the Facebook and YouTube video feeds, then retreats to his producer station.
At about two minutes to air, Coleman returns and, with the mics, on he loudly slaps the arm of the clapper, the video/audio sync gizmo, then leaves to go back to the producer station, closing the door behind him.
It’s airtime. And the questions and answers below are the result of various days of the Basic Gospel radio program. I hope you benefit from them.
