July 25, 2015
Hello again, everybody! Can you believe we are pressing already toward the end of July! Time flies when… Well, you know. But here we are already with our fourth installment of my eZine called Inside the Studio.
As promised in our first edition, I want to start this week taking you for a look around our broadcast and production facilities. We will stop first at my place. Click below to see a short video:
The eMail from Steve posed a rather serious question concerning a seeming contradiction of Scripture in regard to our works, “whether good or bad”.
On June 3, 1985, we began this national radio ministry. We were joined on Day 1 by KBBW, a station in Waco, Texas. The owner, Steve Williams, his wife, Tammie, and their son, Ryan, are some of the finest people we’ve been privileged to know along the way.
Thirty years later KBBW is still with us, broadcasting the good news to listeners throughout central Texas.
Recently, Alvis Hill with the station interviewed Bob Christopher for the listeners on KBBW. I thought we might eavesdrop a little on that conversation:
Misunderstanding of the gift of tongues has caused much debate and division within the body of Christ.
Several years ago, when I was still operating my audio production business, I had a client who firmly believed that speaking in tongues was not only active today, but was the only true, overt indication of one’s salvation.
I mentioned to him that I worked with a group of Christian men who were in full time Christian ministry, but who did not speak in tongues.
To my surprise this client became outwardly agitated and stated that if our belief (that not everyone spoke in tongues) was true, that robbed him of the joy of his salvation.
I replied, “… if you believe all saved people speak in tongues, and I don’t, then in your belief system I would not even be saved. And I know that’s not true, because, as Romans 8:16 says, ‘The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God’, and I have that testimony in my spirit.”
Tongues can be a rather touchy subject, and it was discussed fully recently on the broadcast by Bob Christopher and Andrew Farley in a call from Robert, in New York. Listen below:
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed it. I will have more exciting things to share in our next edition. See you next time … Inside the Studio!
