To all the Dads, happy Father’s Day! I hope this day brings you all the joy and blessings that our Lord has stored up for you.
I know that not everyone has had the ideal father. I was blessed in that regard. I actually had two very strong male figures during my growing up years — my dad, Robert A. Davis, and his father, my grandfather, Newton E. Davis.
They both were rural letter carriers for the U.S. Postal Service and both were terrific role models for me. I hope some of their qualities rubbed off on me. They both were good guys because of Christ in them. And they both loved me.
But in the context of pure love, there is no greater love than that of our heavenly Father, manifested in the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that through Him, the world might be saved.”
And for that, we can truly celebrate on this Father’s Day!
Now turning our attention to our phone calls and eMail this week…
Would like to know whether temptations can or can’t come from God.
What should his daughter do if she is unable to repay?
What is holiness?
That’s the subject posed by Ray from the Bay Area of California.
There is seldom a dull moment inside the studio at Basic Gospel. I hope this week’s edition has been of benefit to you.
