Bob and Richard address another "hard passage" - Hebrews 10:26-29. This passage states "it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Sab in England asks about Revelation 2:4. Does this only apply to the seven churches or is it for us - that God has something against us? Lois is a Christian working in a secular business. She has witnessed her boss stealing from the business. What should she do? Vicky in Denver asks about the tree of knowledge - is that when evil came into the world. Why did God create the tree? Does that mean he created evil? Shawn encourages all believers that if they are in Christ, there's nothing to be afraid of. In Christ, we have assurance and peace.

Bob, Bob and Richard discuss the horrifying event in Las Vegas. What goes on in someone's mind that brings a person to commit such heinous acts? It is pure evil. Our hearts go out to the victims and those who love them. The trauma of this will manifest in many different ways. We pray that they would turn to the Word of God for answers. Kristin asks about how 1 Corinthians 1:1-5 should be applied today. Bob and Richard explain the hard passage of Hebrews 10:26-29. What is the "fearful expectation of judgment"? Is this passage true for believers? An email question asks about Adam and Eve - did they really die spiritually? Did anyone in the Old Testament go to Heaven? Abraham believed what God revealed to him and God credited it to him as righteousness. All are saved by grace, through Christ-whether under the Old Covenant or the New Covenant.

Are recent events fulfillment of prophecies in the Bible? Most prophecy speculation is rooted is fear. In Christ, we can look forward to security, confidence, blessing and hope in the future. Carl asks about capital punishment. Does the Bible speak to that? Kristin asks about church discipline. She is concerned that a church "kicked out" a member for sexual immorality. What makes that sin worse than any other? Don't we all sin and isn't the church to reach out to them in love? Bob addresses a common question we receive: What is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? If you are a believer, there is good news in the answer!

1 Peter 3:18-22 is one of the most comforting and victorious passages in all of the Bible. There is nothing for us to fear as far as suffering is concerned. We can be certain of our life even in the midst of circumstances. * A Minnesota listener wrote about his divorce. She is making her new partner a part of their children's lives. She has shown no remorse. He is torn in regard to forgiving her. * Tom asks about John 6:44 and speaks to the issue of "drawing". Does God draw some and not others? * An email question asks what is the purpose of Christ interceding for us in Heaven? Don't the accusations of Satan fall on deaf ears?

John Lynch joined us on the broadcast recently to discuss depression. Almost 7% of the population in America suffer from depression. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among teens. John speaks to the power of the gospel to set people free from depression. John says "for some it's temporary, for some it's intermittent, for some it's the result of chronic pain, for some it's the result of bad theology, for many there is no apparent basis for depression". As long as hope is alive, we can continue to move forward. But, without hope, the darkness envelops us. Believers don't have to be afraid of this issue, but to recognize that you are adored by God, He is not ashamed or frustrated. The God of all grace, He will himself will perfect and confirm and strengthen and establish you. What a promise that is!

Joseph asks about sex before marriage. Does that defile the union that you desire after marriage? When you do get married, do you have to take your vows before God or just go to the courthouse? Daniel asks if forgiveness is contingent upon repentance or repenting? Bob explains that repentance is a much bigger word - it's really about going from death to life. Chris from Virginia asks what God's solution is to our timidity in sharing our faith with others? If fear of sharing an indicator that God is not wanting us to share with that particular person? When those feelings of fear come, what do we do with that? Jeff called to thank us for the ministry and to ask for direction in how to communicate with his friend. His friend is struggling with drugs, alcohol, and suffered the loss of both parents. How should he approach his friend with the Gospel? The answer is to simply talk to him about Jesus and let the power of the Gospel do it's work. Bob encourages all listeners to continue to keep our friend, Ryan, and his family in our prayers. Ryan is a dear listener of Basic Gospel and is facing terminal brain cancer with faith and trust in God. Please join with us as we continue to pray for God's perfect work in Ryan's life.

We have been equally encouraged by him. William calls asking about drinking and gluttony. Even Jesus was accused of such things. This questions leads to a discussion of our living sacrifice. Welcome to the Christmas edition of Basic Gospel Weekend! Bob, Bob, and Richard discuss the awe-inspiring gift of Jesus Christ. Through his birth, love came down and gave us hope. Through his death, we received forgiveness of sins and eternal life. God's Christmas gift to us was his son, Jesus Christ. As the angel proclaimed, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:10-11). All of us at Basic Gospel wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and God's richest blessings in the New Year!

Richard answers with insight from his own life. Kim is worried about all the instances of seeing the number 666. Does it mean that she is being attacked or marked?
