Gregory, listening from the Dallas area on the WORD, asks, "What does the Bible mean when it talks about obedience? Is it like obeying a person who might say, ` do this, and do that'? Bob explains that when we see God demonstrating His love to us over and beyond measure, we start responding back to His love, with love. We love, because He first loved us. This leads us to a life of dependance on God, as well as a response of obedience to God's love for us.
Ali from Buffalo New York shares with listeners that the Koran says that Christ is the Messiah, not just King of Jews, but rather, King of everyone. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was crucified or resurrected, but was "taken away" by the Gods, and will return one day to lead us into all righteousness. Bob invites Ali to re-examine the crucifixion, and that without the crucifixion and resurrection, we are still dead in our sins.
Clay from Hutto, Texas calls to remind listeners that we cannot forget that Jesus was conceived differently than any baby. We cannot deny the Virgin Birth. The word became flesh and dwelt among us 9 months earlier with Mary.
Young Aliah from the Bronx asks about certain sects that claim people who church on Sundays worship the "sun god". Bob explains that we worship on Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Aliyah continues to be puzzled by people worrying about it. Why not just let us worship God on Sundays? Man looks on the outside, but God looks on the heart. I Samuel 16:7
"Let the little children come unto Me." Rose called to asks about sharing the Gospel with children. Bob encourages her to keep sharing the Good News with them. An email question from Fidela about whether to take radiation and chemotherapy. A friend has said that taking treatment is a lack of faith in God. Bob encourages her to seek what the Lord would have her do, rather than the influence of friends. Bob takes a few minutes to share our vision for Basic Gospel for the next 3 years. Everything we do is to let people know that, in Christ, they can be fully alive and can fully trust in Him. Join with us and help spread the word about Jesus Christ to people who need to hear it! Visit http://basicgospel.net/support to join the Basic Gospel team. The world is in turmoil and is full of darkness. Only the Gospel can clear the confusion and dispel the darkness. Join with us to share the light of the World - Jesus Christ! Ron asks an important question, how was Jesus tempted, yet perfect? Bob explains that because Jesus was tempted in every way, we can go to Him in our own temptation, knowing He knows how you feel and you can trust Him to lead you through your situation. We end with John's call wondering how to minister to a friend's son who believes that if you do not observe the "Sabbath", then you are not saved.
We begin this week's edition with a call from Cynthia who is passionate about calling the church to prayer regarding the things of the world. Bob speaks from the heart about this subject and reminds us that our calling is to be a voice in this dark world, sharing the good news about Christ. Colossians 2:22-3 was the subject of Jose's email - if we have died with Christ, are we set free from the rules of the world? Anthony shares his concern regarding serving other people. If we reach out to people, how do we avoid taking on their problems as our own. Andrew has a great perspective and set Anthony's mind at ease. Antoine asks the question, "is salvation as simple as John 3:16 or do we need deeper knowledge?" Bob reassures him that the path to salvation is simply "by grace, through faith". Our last question is from Ron who asks for clarification on Hebrews 4:15 - how was Jesus tempted in every way and yet remained without sin? Bob points out that this scripture should teach us that God certainly knows everything we are going through and that Jesus understands our temptations. We can trust in the Father, just as Jesus did. Thanks for joining us!
We begin this week with a question from Debbie. A woman at a bible study challenged her salvation because she doesn't speak in tongues. Bob debunks the allegation and encourages her with the true meaning of salvation. Russell is questioning his religious upbringing and asks what grace really means. An email question from a man who asks how to forgive his ex-wife for her adultery so they can have a good relationship for their children. Darrell asks if John the Baptist was not worthy to unlatch Jesus' shoes and yet the woman who anointed His feet was worthy. What makes them different? We end with Jeff's request for clarification about Hebrews 6 as it pertains to losing salvation. This is a very interesting Basic Gospel Weekend and we pray it is an encouragement to you!
David called seeking information on how to get to know Jesus in a personal way. He feels lost and struggles with unbelief. Bob explains that salvation is not a self-improvement program, it is receiving the life of Christ. We call it "first life, then change". After understanding this issue, David prays to receive the life of Christ! As you listen to David's call, if you join him in receiving the life of Christ, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you resources to help you in your journey of grace!
Our friend, Sab, from the United Kingdom, is concerned about his family and friends who were Hindu. What happened when they died? A powerful and important question to explore. An interesting question from Jennifer - how is the wisdom of God different from the wisdom that Eve desired from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Jerry asks how the leadership of the church be chosen? Peter asks for clarification on rejecting the Holy Spirit - is it your past rejection or future rejection?
We pray you enjoy this edition of Basic Gospel weekend and that it is helpful to you in your journey of grace!
This week we present an overview of what we at Basic Gospel call The Power of 8 - 8 fundamental truths that believers need to fully understand in order to fully experience the grace of God. The 8 truths are:

This week we hear from Eugene who wonders how he is qualified to share the message of Christ when he still struggles with sin. Rose asks for help in releasing long-held anger towards a friend. She worries that God won't forgive her if she can't forgive her friend. Brad called to encourage listeners that they truly can know and experience life in Christ. He reminds us of Hebrews 12:2, "keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith". Ralph asks if we are still bound by the 10 Commandments. Andrew explains that the law is not dead - but, as believers, WE are dead to the law. Andrew says, "If you are flirting with the Law, you are cheating on Jesus. Jesus Christ is enough for us." And, finally, Richard Peifer shares his thoughts about freedom. Everything in the world tries to drive us back to bondage. But, we have freedom in Christ! Enjoy this edition of Basic Gospel Weekend!
