David in Brooklyn, NY asks how God is involved in our pain and suffering. God is sovereign and all-powerful so is He the author of the horrible things in our lives? God is not the author of evil, never tempts us with sin. Difficult circumstances serve to highlight God's promise that He will work all things together for good. We will experience trouble, trials and tribulations but we have hope in the midst of those things - the work and person of Jesus Christ. Mike in Oregon asks about Calvinism - why does Calvin get so much credit? Many theologians have studied his writings. What we need to remember is that if we are going to know anything about Jesus, it will be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. Maryann in Kentucky called to thank Basic Gospel for the teaching and to encourage the listeners to prayerfully consider supporting the ministry both financially and through prayer. Clay asks about Zacharias - why was he rendered speechless? Gwen is struggling with trusting God. Circumstances are tough and she wonders why God is not intervening in her trials. Bob helps her focus on the fact that Jesus is bigger and God's love for her. Thanks for joining us today and we pray you will find something in this broadcast to help you stand in truth!
This weekend edition highlights real life issues and addresses how we, as believers, can respond.
